The WP today has an article about DCPS renovations, in particular 4 consolidated schools which will accept students displaced by school closures. One of note is Eliot JHS (1830 Constitution Avenue, NE), now named Eliot-Hines JHS (because Hines JHS on the 700 block of Pennsylvania Ave, SE is now closed) is under major-last-minute-renovations in attempt to be ready for the first day of school Monday, August 25. The construction activity is impressive; but, it appears the project's scope-of-work will not be completed on schedule.
08/21/08 Update: WP article today reports on Council Chair Vincent Gray's letter to Mayor Fenty addressing the current DCPS renovations that are behind schedule.
