Walking and Running Group *Addendum 4/27*


A walking and running group was proposed at the last RCA meeting. Walkers will meet around 6:30pm on  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at the Gibb's elementary school going down E St to toward the stadium and around back up C St. Runners will meet Tues, Thursdays and Saturdays. To confirm participation email Nikki.




Here's a link to a training guide for walkers who may want to transition to running.

The walking group will start May 7th the schedule will go as followed:

Walkers will meet:  Monday - Wednesday - Friday (Nikki Bowens: Contact person -RosedaleDC@gmail.com)6:15 warm up/stretch, 6:30-7:30 walk the proposed route




A lead person/volunteer is still needed for the Runners (Tuesday and Thursday)


Do any cyclist want to meet on Saturdays and Sundays?

Capital Bikeshare has Started!

Capital Bikeshare puts 1,100 bicycles at your finger tips. You can choose from 110 stations across Washington, DC and Arlington, VA and return it to any station near your destination.


19th & East Capitol Streets SE Station (near the Stadium-Armory Metrorail Station)

The three closest stations near Rosedale and Kingman Park:

• 13 & H Streets NE
• 13th & D Streets NE
• 19th & East Capitol Streets SE (near the Stadium-Armory Metrorail Station)

DC Seeking Artists to Design Bike Racks



The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) in collaboration with District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Councilmember Tommy Wells' Office (link to CM Wells' blog posting) is seeking artists to create artistic designs to enhance the standard bike racks and create designs for unique bike racks that will be placed in various locations citywide. Artists are encouraged to incorporate their interpretations of the "DC experience" into their artwork. Artists may also wish to consider particular locations for placement of their work and create designs specifically suited for each location.

Artist Honorarium: $1,500
Deadline: Friday, July 11, 2008 at 5:30 pm
