Special Presentation

Brittney Lovejoy is a Virginia Tech 5th Year Landscape Architecture student who is doing her thesis project "to create a design scheme for more sustainable, livable, walkable open space system for the Kingman Park/Rosedale neighborhood."  She would like to present her thesis project and would appreciate input from Rosedale and Kingman Park residents to "obtain relevant public input and residential feedback about the open spaces".

SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS & DISCUSSIONS

7:35 DPR's Aquatic Department Director Brendan McElroy and other DPR Aquatic Department staff, including a representative from their Capitol Projects team, will discuss the following regarding the Rosedale outdoor pool:

• Provide existing pool programming available
• Seek community input on potential aquatic programs
• How the existing pool will be integrated into the proposed new Rosedale Community Center - pool-house, locker rooms, restrooms, showering and changing facilities, etc.
• Discuss adding "comfort" elements to the pool area - seating, tables, shading canopy, etc.
• Discuss feasibility of funding and constructing an integrated "spray park" adjacent to the pool grounds during the community center construction

7:55 Antonio Roberson, owner of Langston Bar & Grill, will discuss how Benning Road Business Association and RCA can collaborate to enhance and support Benning Road businesses and the Rosedale community.
