Rosedale Real Estate

The Rosedale real estate market has been featured in the past in the Washington Post as an "up and coming" area and a neighborhood where you can can get good bang for your housing buck. Now, a recent rehab project is  being featured on the Prince of Petworth blog under the Good Deal or Not subtitle, where individuals are encouraged to weigh in on if they think the property is worth the price.  The house was going for over 500k when it was first listed and the price has been dropped. An interesting twist includes that a bike is being offered with the deal, which is definitely something you don't see at the closing table often.  This is a great way to see what is being offered in the neighborhood without peeping through your neighbors windows.  The Redfin link to the property is here.

I did get a chance to check this property out at an open house. Personally I think it's a solid rehab (but maybe not for my personal taste. However, I like it when I see well thought out rehab projects come to the neighborhood. It reaffirms my belief that I came to a good area of the city that others appreciate as well.

Thanks for posting this. I saw the house over the weekend and was pleased to see it posted on PoP, as well as most of the positive comments.

I thought the house was gorgeous. Definitely not a run-of-the-mill flip, and a welcome renovation for the neighborhood. To me, it's the latest of several welcome thoughtful renovations in Rosedale that maintain and further the neighborhood's individuality.

Thanks for the post about this house. This house is awesome - there's really nothing else like it on the market. Thrilled that Rosedale is developing a reputation for interesting rehabs and design. Go check this place out if you haven't seen it!

I'm thrilled to see this and hope to attend an open house soon!

I own the house next door, and I'm in the process of moving back into the neighborhood after being gone for over two years. For years it was a problem property- most notably when the woman of the house stabbed her husband in the spring of 2009! It will no longer be known as the scary pink house.

Tom, that is some interesting neighborhood history! Hopefully you get to see it soon cause hopefully the house will be off the market soon (that's great for all of us).

This makes me proud to be a Rosedaler. My wife and I bought on Isherwood earlier this year and were really really looking forward to things like this picking up. It'll be interesting to see the neighborhood evolve over the next few years.
