Job Available - Rosedale Recreation Center Recreation Aide!

Good Afternoon Friends and Neighbors!

On behalf of Mayor Fenty, my office and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), it is my pleasure to announce DPR is hiring a Recreation Aide to staff the expanded space at the temporary location of Rosedale Recreation Center at Gibbs Elementary (19th & E St).

Summer 2010 is bringing changes to our recreational facilities in Rosedale. We are very excited to increase our current interim space at Rosedale Recreation Center in Gibbs Elementary School.

To accommodate the needs of the community, Mayor Fenty and the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS) has worked together with the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM), the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and most importantly the community to optimize the use of Rosedale Rec’s temporary site. In addition to the current space at Gibbs being used, residents will now have access to the multi-purpose room for a number of activities!

DPR is currently looking to hire a temporary, part-time, qualified individual from the Rosedale community to assist in staffing the expanded space in the Gibbs School Multi-Purpose Room during the evenings. The room will be host to a number of different summer activities, such as a kids boxing camp, girls cheerleading, indoor basketball and more.

Qualified applicants will be responsible for:
 Scheduling activities and other related programming duties
 Providing information to the community regarding programming and upcoming events
 Supervising and working with youth
 Physically setting up equipment for activities when necessary
 Other duties as assigned/Please see additional information below

For immediate consideration, please email a resume and letter of interest to Sandra Pinchback-Bent at sandra.pinchback-bent@dc.gov. We are looking to hire the temporary employee quickly to maximize the potential of the recreation space. Therefore, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Also, DPR is also seeking volunteers to assist with evening programming at the temporary site of Rosedale Rec.
