Greeting from the New Ward 6 Outreach & Services Specialist

Greetings all:

I hope this email finds you in good spirits and health. I write to introduce myself as the newest member of Mayor Fenty’s Office of Community Relations and Services. I am proud to be your Neighborhood Services Coordinator and I look forward working with each of you to continue the progress in Ward 6. As you know, Ward 6 is a great community and our office is committed to continuing and building upon our past successes in Ward 6. Please, know that I will always be available to you and I have benefit of the experienced leadership of Sarah Latterner, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services. Should you have need of an additional contact related to Ward 6 issues, do not hesitate to contact Sarah.

Last, each Tuesday morning at 9:00 am, our Ward 6 CORE Team will conduct the Mayor’s Operation FIX-IT program in a different neighborhood each week. Operation FIX-IT is the Mayor’s initiative to address crime and blight in neighborhoods throughout the District. Moreover, this effort is designed to provide multi-agency solutions to issues which include graffiti abatements, street and alley cleanings, trash and debris removal, compliance checks, rat abatement, vehicle towing, traffic light/sign repair, boarding of nuisance properties, overgrowth removal, building inspection, and street/alley/sidewalk repair. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 9:00 am, Operation FIX-IT will address issues in the Rosedale neighborhood.

Please, feel free to contact me directly to discuss community issues or to suggest the next site of Operation FIX-IT!

Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve you. My contact information is provided below.

Sincerely,

Forest Hayes
