You can get a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, pastries, breads, sandwiches, cakes, and other desserts. Prices are very reasonable-- this morning, I bought a panini sandwhich, two pastries, a coffee, and a slice of pound cake for $10.50.
Check out some photos below:
Cafe Roma is located at 411 18th ST NE. Open 7am to 7pm Mon-Sat. The next RCA meeting will be held there this coming Monday night, March 3rd at 7:30pm.

i highly recommend the cappuccinos - they are as good as any in the "old country"!
I tried Cafe Roma for lunch today with two friends - we each had a different kind of panini, split some cheesecake that we out of this world, and the owners comp'ed us some meringues for dessert. Delicious all the way around, and the courteous staff speaking Italian behind the counter only adds to the atmosphere.
I forgot to mention in my post: The older couple who run the cafe are actually from Rome. (They lived there for 30 years.) So this place is the real deal.
Oh! I'm so excited. Finally there is place to go between eastern market and H St! I'll be visiting this week for sure.
Correction - you bought a panino - panini is plural
