On Monday, November 6th, RCA members met at Gibbs Elementary, located at 19th and E NE. We were joined by Gibbs' Principal Kim Davis and Coach Chase. They described their experiences as educators working in the DC public schools and, in particular, in a school in the Rosedale neighborhood. We identified some ways RCA may be able to help the school, like contacting DPW about illegal dumping in the school dumpster, and making sure Gibbs is added to the list of Schools scheduled for the annual Hands on DC volunteer event in the public schools.
