Morning Glory Story Time:  EVERY Monday and Wednesday @ 10 a.m. -- Children ages birth to 5 years old (with their caretakers) can enjoy a story time that includes songs, stories, action rhymes, and fun!  (No program on Columbus Day, October 13).

Youth Chess Club: EVERY Monday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. — Children get to learn how to play this challenging game of strategy from an experienced instructor and participate in friendly games against each other. (No program on Columbus Day, October 13).

Play Dough Day Returns: Saturday, October 11 @ 3:30 p.m. — Children ages 4-8 will LOVE making play dough to squish, knead and create new things. We use a simple non-toxic recipe that requires no cooking. As in our previous program, other resources, household items and Ms. Tea's suggestions will be available to prompt creative thinking.

Sing-Along Movie Nights: Tuesday, October 14 and October 21 @ 4:30 p.m. — We already know Kids Love Karaoke. Now it's time to take the performances to the next level.  Kids, Teen and Tweens are all welcome. You can wear your favorite movie character costume: Spiderman, Superman, your favorite Disney Princess.  Microphones will be available for participants to sing-along with the films! Call Rosedale Library at 202-727-5012 for details about the films.

Halloween Crafts: Saturday, October 18 @ 10:30 a.m. — Children will be able to make their own Halloween-themed picture frames!  Supplies are limited, so this special craft day is first come, first serve. For children ages 6-12.

Family Halloween Film: Saturday, October 18 @ 1:30 p.m. — The entire family can enjoy a special showing of Hocus Pocus, a charming, fun movie about two teenagers, a little girl, and a boy turned into a cat who must save their town from witches. Rated PG.

Pumpkin Carving: Tuesday, October 28 thru Friday, October 31 — Tweens and teens will get to design and carve pumpkins for Halloween!  More details and schedules to follow soon.

Reel Reading Book Club: Tuesday, October 28 @ 5 p.m. — Join Rosedale's Reel Reading Book Club! Kids read a book and then on the last Tuesday of each month they watch the movie that the book inspired, or the movie that inspired the book. Kids can enjoy a brief group discussion as well! October's book selection is Roald Dahl’s BFG, which inspired a movie of the same name!

Mask Masking:  Friday, October 31 @ 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. — Children and tweens can make and take home a mask of their own for trick or treating! Varieties include robots, scarecrows, Frankenstein, black cats, and several types of princesses.
