Good Day Neighbors,
WOW, what a wonderful summer we had in the Rosedale Community. From the Young Adult summer Basketball League hosted by HOOD (Hope, Opportunity, Open to Positive Change and Decision/Development) under the leadership of Coach Willie Smith, to the successful season for RYI's (Rosedale Youth Institute) Sports/Mentoring Programs, onto the productive and collaborated works of RCA and the community.
There have been so many wonderful and productive accomplishments added to the crown of our community and the work continues. Not only did we as a community work hard with our City Government and Councilmembers, but also we aided in obtaining a letter of support from our ANC6A Commissioners for Ms. Mamie “Peanut” Johnson, a local Living Legend, who is seeking to have the newly and reconstructed Rosedale Playing Field named in her honor.
Good food, conversation and great fun are considered to be the wholesome nourishment that ties family and neighbors together, which is exactly what was offered during the KPRCG (Kingman Park/Rosedale Community Garden) cookout on September 13th. Two communities coming together for the greater good, now that’s “neighborhood”.
Then to cap off the summer the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project for the Rosedale Community Center & Library, which was held on Wednesday, September 30th. What a glorious send off into a new season for the Rosedale Community.
GREAT Teamwork RCA; great work community.
